When we went to see the house we eventually bought, we were immediately told: 'Be prepared that you have a lot to do about this house'.  It put a lot of people off because the house was for sale for 5 months, but for us it was exciting, but in the end this was not an issue. We took up the challenge together with a contractor.  We demolished everything together with family and friends, but we left the assembly to the professional.  We did help here and there and therefore learned a lot ourselves.  We moved at the end of July and the furnishing could begin.  I turned out to really enjoy this and it went well for me too! We first took all our old furniture with us and then replaced everything one by one.  It gives a good feeling to see things slowly improve and to see them become more beautiful.
