A LOOK INSIDE HOUSE ON THE SQUARE
When we went to see the house we eventually bought, we were immediately told: 'Be prepared that you have a lot to do about this house'. It put a lot of people off because the house was for sale for 5 months, but for us it was exciting, but in the end this was not an issue.
We took up the challenge together with a contractor. We demolished everything together with family and friends, but we left the assembly to the professional. We did help here and there and therefore learned a lot ourselves. We moved at the end of July and the furnishing could begin. I turned out to really enjoy this and it went well for me too!
We first took all our old furniture with us and then replaced everything one by one. It gives a good feeling to see things slowly improve and to see them become more beautiful.
Bedroom
We wanted the bedroom to be a nice and warm place. I chose a terracotta color and adjusted the accessories accordingly. This creates the atmosphere we wanted in the bedroom. The wall has color 1064 of the Karwei. A white wooden floor has been laid on the entire first floor. White can feel cold, so we opted for a jute rug from Intratuin on the floor to make it a bit warmer. The plaid is from H&M Home. The long pillow on the bed is a special pillow for sleeping from Goforthemoon. This relieves back pain for side sleepers or pregnant women and looks great on your bed! In addition, plants should not be missing, so there is a large monstera in the corner.

Living room
In the living room we have beautiful stained glass windows in the dining area. We thought it was very important to keep it. Downstairs we have a wooden floor from Cibo in the color Mulhouse in the living room. Our kitchen is not very large, so we needed extra storage space in the living room. Yet I have not opted for a closed cupboard. The cabinet was custom made by Stefan Martens Interieur, so that it fits perfectly with the walls and ceiling. We also had the table and the bench made and the table has a beautiful Hungarian point on the top. We hung the lamps with a lightswing. A handy system for hanging two lamps directly above the table without loose wires.
In the sitting area we opted for the floating Besta TV unit from Ikea. A budget-friendly option and it looks great. Because we made a hole in the wall for the cables during the renovation, they are now no longer visible. We have a very beautiful large strelitzia plant in the corner. The large plant accentuates the high ceilings!
Bathroom
The bathroom was also due for replacement, so we could fulfill all our wishes here. We opted for a double shower with lots of black and white. To bring warmth into the room, we had a wooden piece of furniture made to measure by oak tables. It turned out to be about $ 1,200 cheaper to have it made than if we bought it from a bathroom store. So a tip: do not buy everything directly from a store, as searching can yield a lot.
